With over 50% of emails being opened in email clients that support video in email, we predict that the percentage of marketers who will have tried video in email will at least double during 2017 to at least 30%. Because of the previous technical hurdles, less than 15% of marketers had tried video in email and more than 40% of marketers hadn’t tried it and weren’t interested in trying it, according to a Litmus poll a year ago. One of the biggest changes in iOS 10 Mail is the reestablishment of support for HTML5 video, which allows video to play inside an email. At least 30% of marketers will have tried embedded video in email by the end of 2017.
